Marguerite White, E-RYT 200

After growing up with a Buddhist father and yogini mother, Marguerite found her own practice in college, and completed her 200 Hour training in 2011 through Corepower Yoga in Boulder, Colorado. While her teaching remains rooted in power vinyasa flow, Marguerite has since studied and taught yin, restorative, gentle, and children’s yoga, all of which have influenced her growth as a teacher and student. Marguerite approaches every class with the intention to balance breath, strength, mindful focus, and a sense of play through safe and creative sequencing, leading students through what one has described as a “fresh, funky flow” day after day.

Maryellen Baverso, E-RYT 200

Maryellen creates a space for her students that helps them feel more connected to their bodies and their experiences through breath and movement. Her approach to teaching a yoga practice is to speak to each student, while building the energy and support from the community in the room. Maryellen's classes are designed to build heat and refine alignment. Her craft is to move her students in safe and intuitive sequencing that spikes a sense of curiosity in their practice. Maryellen's teaching empowers her students to be tuned in to their bodies and to take the modification or advanced asana needed to heighten their experience. Maryellen is a teacher who wants her students to feel alive and inspired by the work they do on their mats and to skip off into their world more honest and open with who they are right now.

Tara Beretsky, RYT 200

Tara completed her 200 hour teacher training in October of 2014 with Bend Yoga under the instruction of Lynn Rescigno in Pittsburgh, PA. A former dancer and cheerleader Tara has always been a lover of movement until about 10 years ago when chronic pain and fatigue from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia took that ability away from her. Fortunately Tara found yoga and was able to not only gain back, but increase her strength, flexibility and confidence. Tara strives to spread this practice to others to improve their quality of life and use the physical and mental benefits of yoga to heal! Off the mat Tara makes herbal salves, lip balm, artisan tea and malas. Tara also has a deep love for dogs and kayaks. You can expect an ashtanga inspired vinyasa flow class with a healthy mix of both standing and seated postures with a strong focus on proper alignment. Modifications and advancement in postures will always be given and any and all questions are encouraged.

Juls Gunther, RYT 200

Juls trained at South Hills Power Yoga, Dormont PA 2016 and says: I started yoga when I was 14 at Amazing Yoga Wexford. I went to my first class in the summer and it was hot, I forgot a towel, and I fumbled like crazy. I loved it! Yoga became a part of my every day life. I have always had yoga to come back to, it has always been the one constant I could rely on and as my life goes through its highs and lows. During the day you can catch me at the Island Bean where I'm a barista. You can also find me in my hammock reading or on my stand up paddle board at north park. During the evenings you can find me staying up late Netflix bingeing with my mom, sister, and boyfriend. I teach a Power Vinyasa style. I teach from a place of what feels good and what makes people feel strong and confident. I love learning with my students and sharing the practice.

Meeraj Moosa, RYT 200, Certified Reiki II Practitioner, Childlight Yoga Instructor

Meeraj started taking yoga for a physical practice during her junior year of high school. She likes to say yoga found her for the much-needed mental practice during her first year of college.  After seeing an improvement in her overall health she knew she wanted to pass this beautiful gift on to others. After graduating college Meeraj began the journey to getting her 200-hour YTT certification, which she received in March of 2016. At the time she was a nanny and started practicing with the kids she watched over. It was then that she realized kids needed yoga just as much as adults, and she decided to focus part of her training on children’s yoga. She holds a Childlight Yoga Teacher certification as of June 2016. Meeraj is also working towards getting her 300HR YTT this summer! In her classes you can expect mindful movement with a focus on breath work, meditation, and of course asana. Classes often include hands on and music is playing!

When Meeraj isn’t practicing yoga you can find her cuddled with her cat, offering Reiki, or enjoying the company of her friends & family!

Rachael Sands, RYT 200

Rachael was naturally led to Yoga during her time at West Virginia University studying Exercise Physiology. The feelings of peace and joy noticed after each and every yoga class was undeniable. She knew early on that she needed to share this practice of yoga with others to help them find sweet balance and their natural joy in life. Her yoga and meditation journey began in 2012, which inspired her to train under JoAnne Vandenhengel through Third Street Yoga. Certified by the Yoga Alliance, she began teaching in 2014. Rachael believes that yoga is a path to self-awareness, acceptance, and love. It is a means to bring body, mind, and spirit into alignment which can promote healing. She incorporates her exercise science background as well as her fun loving attitude towards life in her teachings.

Joanna Studeny, RYT 200

First led to yoga through her college meditation studies, almost two decades later Joanna still finds yoga to be the best way to understand one's true self. While Joanna's classes can be physically challenging, she urges the use of breathe as a guide to find softness within our poses and our thoughts. A climber and fitness enthusiast herself, she also brings to her classes the knowledge she gained teaching yoga in Colorado where she worked primarily with athletes, helping them relax overused muscles as well as competitive motivations. She completed her 200 hour training through Core Power Yoga in 2009, the same year she graduated from law school. Joanna is forever grateful for her journey from office life to full-time yoga life.

Kaley Zahren, RYT 200

Kaley Rose Zahren is a 200-hour certified Power Yoga instructor. Kaley fell in love with the yoga practice in the summer of 2014 after just one class. She quickly made the decision to become a yoga instructor so that she could share this transformative practice with others. Kaley completed Amazing Yoga’s 100-hour teacher training in Tulum, Mexico June 2015 and then the 200-hour training in Nosara, Costa Rica shortly after that in August. Kaley is extremely passionate about health and wellness and when she is not teaching or practicing yoga, she enjoys running and various other fitness activities. Additionally, Kaley is a recent graduate from the University of Pittsburgh, and takes care of a collection of 50+ animals as an Education Specialist at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.
